Unioncamere Lazio, as part of its promotional activities to support the agricultural sector, pays great attention to the olive oil sector through a series of initiatives aimed at the firms operating in this field.

Among them, the Regional Competition for the best extra virgin olive oils produced in the Latium region, “Orii del Lazio”, plays an important role in this strategy.

Established as a regional selection procedure of participants to the “Ercole Olivario” National Award, the Regional Competition has acquired its own prestige and status over the years.
In fact, it provides an important opportunity to stimulate producers towards the path of constant quality improvement and encourage consumers to use the high quality extra virgin olive oils produced in the Latium region.

The Regional Competition has achieved the recognition as an event of particular interest for the firms in the region, which, more and more, participate with enthusiasm to the annual event and distinguish themselves for the quality and genuineness of the products they present.

Not surprisingly, the Regional Competition represents one of the key elements of the valorisation program of the olive oil production chain that the Rome Chamber of Commerce has promoted and which is concretized in a wide and diversified series of actions to support the sector.

In this respect, it has been decided to entrust the technical organisation of the Competition to Agro Camera, a special agency of the Rome Chamber of Commerce for the development of the agrifood sector, which is also taking care of the valorisation programme.
